Broadband internet

South East Queensland Community Telco has been providing internet services for over ten years. Our ADSL service delivers performance and reliabillity that you can count on.

Advantages of our broadband services

  • Up to 20 times faster - download data at speeds of up to 6.144 Mbps compared to the standard 56 Kbps dial-up speed. What does this mean? Downloading a 10 MB file can take around a minute using our ADSL 1500 Kbps plan, compared to up to an hour using a dial-up modem.
  • 'Always on' connection - no dial-up costs (reducing your phone bill), no annoying drop-outs/redials, no busy responses and no waiting for the connection. The internet is accessible as soon as your computer is turned on.
  • Shares existing phone line - most ADSL services can be provided through your existing telephone line without interrupting phone use. You can make and receive calls while you're on the internet. Contact us to find out if your address has ADSL compatibility.

All South East Qld Community Telco broadband accounts provide as a minimum:

  • Static IP address - enables you to set up your own mail servers and host your own domain and web pages. If you need more than one IP address, please contact us to discuss your routing and hardware requirements.
  • Unlimited users - a South East Qld Community Telco ADSL 'always on' internet connection supports multiple and unlimited users, unlike some other ADSL providers who only allow a certain number of users, after which you pay extra per user. (Please note: you are responsible for networking additional users).

Equipment requirements

ADSL broadband services require a DSL modem or router at your home. A fixed IP address will be supplied.

If you choose to purchase and install equipment, you must verify with South East Qld Community Telco that the equipment is compatible with the ADSL service. A USB modem requires a computer with a USB interface. If the modem has an ethernet interface, an ethernet adaptor is required.
